All Eyes on Take-Two as Delay Concerns Linger

Grand Theft Auto fans have circled February 3, 2026 on their calendars. Take-Two Interactive's Q3 fiscal 2026 earnings call, scheduled for 4:30 PM ET (3:00 AM IST on February 4), will likely provide the next official update on whether GTA 6 remains on track for its November 19, 2026 release.
The anticipation comes after a turbulent year for GTA 6 timelines. Rockstar delayed the game twice in 2025, first pushing it from its original 2025 window to May 2026, then again to November. Each delay was announced during Take-Two's quarterly earnings calls, making these investor presentations must-watch events for the gaming community.
Delay Concerns Persist
Industry journalist Jason Schreier recently reignited delay speculation during an appearance on the Button Mash podcast. According to Schreier, the game was "still not content complete" as of his last information. His assessment was blunt: "I don't think anyone at Rockstar could tell you with 100% certainty that they will make it out in November."
That comment sent ripples through the GTA community, though Schreier also noted that games frequently ship without being fully content complete months before launch, as additional content can be developed in parallel with optimization work.
Take-Two CEO Remains Confident
Despite the speculation, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has repeatedly expressed confidence in the November date. During recent investor communications, Zelnick stated: "When we set a date, we really do believe in it" and "We feel really good about this release date."
The February 3 call will test that confidence. If Take-Two reaffirms November 19, it should put many concerns to rest. Any hint of hesitation or qualified language will likely trigger another round of delay speculation.
What We Know About GTA 6
For those still catching up on confirmed details, here is what Rockstar has officially revealed:
Setting and Characters: GTA 6 returns to Vice City, the Miami-inspired location from 2002's Vice City. The game features dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, a romantic couple whose story drives the narrative. This marks the first time a mainline GTA game features a playable female protagonist.
Gameplay: Recent leaks, which Rockstar has indirectly confirmed through legal filings, suggest the game will incorporate mechanics inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2. These reportedly include a limited weapons inventory, greeting and antagonizing NPCs, and a special ability for Jason similar to Dead Eye. The six-star wanted level system will also return.
Platforms: GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced PC availability. Based on historical patterns and insider comments, PC players should expect a wait of at least a year after console launch.
Trailer 3 Speculation
Beyond the earnings call, fans are hunting for any indication of when Rockstar might release a third trailer. The first trailer dropped in December 2023, followed by a second in late 2024. Some analysts believe a third trailer could arrive between April and June 2026, providing fresh footage approximately six months before launch.
Website updates, job listings, and marketing partnerships are all being scrutinized for hints. Rockstar has historically maintained tight control over its marketing schedule, releasing trailers with minimal warning.
What Indian Gamers Should Expect
Indian pricing for GTA 6 has not been announced. For reference, Red Dead Redemption 2 launched at approximately Rs 3,999 for the standard edition on consoles. Given inflation and the increased scope of GTA 6, prices could be higher.
Pre-orders have not opened. Rockstar typically launches pre-orders after revealing collector's editions and retailer exclusives, which often happens in the months leading up to release.
